Indian – Canadian to head top film festival

The Toronto based documentary director Lalita Krishna is to become the head of Hot Docs, North America’s largest documentary film festival.

The Indian origin Canadian documentary director was appointed Co-Chair of the second largest film festival in North America after Toronto International Film Festival.

Originally from Delhi, Krishna is also the co-chair of the Ontario chapter of the Documentary Organization of Canada. Her awarded documentaries are Tiger, on the wrestling legend Tiger Jeet Singh and Mallamall, on the mall culture’s explosion in India and its impact on the traditional retail industry.
