Jaguar Land Rover launches the New Land Rover Defender in India

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India has launched the third product pillar Defender in India, the first two of which are Discovery and Range Rover. The luxury car manufacturer defines it as the toughest and most capable Land Rover, launching the New Land Rover Defender in India.

The New Defender is equipped with a 2 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine that can produce 221 KW and 400 Nm of torque. There are two different body styles to choose from: the 90 (3 doors) and the versatile 110 (5 doors).

The New Defender 90 is priced at Rs 73.98 lakh and is now open for booking, but will be delivered in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2020-21. At the same time, the price of the New Defender 110 starts at Rs 79.94 lakh and has already begun to be available for deliveries.

Customers are able to choose one from 7 exterior color options of the New Defender. The color options are Eiger Grey, Fuji White, Gondwana Stone, Indus Silver, Pangea Green, Santorini Black and Tasman Blue.

Talking about the future models that Jaguar Land Rover is planning, Mr. Rohit Suri said that the Jaguar I-Pace, its first electric SUV will be launched soon. He also mentioned that the company hopes to consolidate its market performance by launching plug-in hybrids and mild hybrids in the near future.

Jaguar Land Rover vehicles are available in India in 25 cities that are Aurangabad, Ahmedabad,  Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Chennai, Chandigarh, Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Indore, Karnal, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Pune, Surat, Raipur, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Mangalore, Kochi, Mumbai, Lucknow and Vijayawada.
