Apple has confirmed on Friday (Sept 18) that it will launch an online store in India on September 23. This is the first time that Apple will directly provide all of its products and support to its customers across India.
Customers can not only buy all Apple products in the online store, but they will also have access to Apple experts who can guide users to purchase Apple products and provide support. Customers will be able to get guidance directly from Apple including online support in English language and phone support in Hindi and English languages.
Mr. Tim Cook, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Apple, has said on Twitter, “We know how important it is for our customers to stay in touch with those they love and the world around them. We can’t wait to connect with our customers and expand support in India with the Apple Store online on September 23!”

Soon after the tweet surfaced, citizens in India welcomed the move. However, they began to ask Mr. Cook to reduce the price of Apple’s devices in the country.
The company has stated in a statement that customers in new online store will have high-quality experience and services provided by the online team members, as found in all Apple stores located around the world.
The online store will also provide buyers with the ability to custom configure any Mac before purchase and will provide students with discounts on accessories and special prices for Macs and iPads, as well as trade-in plans and financing options. In addition, customers will be able to purchase Apple Care+ online which extends the warranty period up to 2 years for technical support and accidental damage coverage.
According to the company, to making the delivery contact-less, all orders will be shipped by BlueDart within 24 to 72 hours after placing the order. The company also plans to offer sessions on music and photography, as well as additional components such as gift wrapping and custom engraving, which may make the gifts on Diwali more attractive.
The company had originally planned to launch online store much earlier, but its plan was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Opening an online Apple store in India is just the first step for the company and it will open a physical retail store in Mumbai next year and then open a second retail store in Bangalore.
