Canada’s provincial and territorial finance ministers are meeting with federal Finance Minister Bill Morneau in Ottawa to discuss country’s economy, the Canada Pension Plan, challenges in the oil sector.
The meeting will also be the forum to review measures being taken for countering tax evasion and to discuss country’s low unemployment rate, country’s competitiveness in global economy and trade.
The meetings that began Sunday night will continue on Monday. The ministers usually meet with federal Finance Minister twice a year.
It is already reported that the federal government will be providing $78.7 billion in transfer funding to provinces and territories during the next fiscal year.
