20 COVID-19 hotspots sealed in Delhi till April 15

The coronavirus (COVID-19) is spreading the day to day rapidly in the country. India has confirmed number of 5,916 cases of COVID-19, 178 deaths caused by COVID-19 and the patients which are recovered are only 506, as of April 9. Due these situations, the government of India is taking all necessary steps to ensure that country faces minimum cases of COVID-19. To curb the spread of COVID-19 in New Delhi, the capital of India, government of India has decided to seal 20 hotspots which are affected by COVID-19 and have maximum cases of COVID-19 as compared other to areas in Delhi.

The decision of sealing 20 coronavirus hotspots in Delhi was taken at an emergency meeting, which was held at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal. The meeting was also attended by Health Minister Mr. Satyendra Jain and Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Manish Sisodia.

Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Mr. Manish Sisodia said that the residents of these areas/localities are not allowed to exit and no person is allowed to enter in these areas till April 15. In case of any emergency, if someone have to steps out of the house then have to wear a mask and it is necessary as well to reduce the spread of virus. However, the government of India will ensure that all the residents of these sealed areas will get delivery of essential items.

Delhi Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal tweet “Wearing of facial masks can reduce the spread of coronavirus substantially. Therefore, it has been decided that facial masks will be compulsory for anyone stepping out of their house. Cloth masks will be eligible too.

  1. Entire affected street near Gandhi Park, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi
  2. Entire affected street of St. No. 6, L 1 Sangam Vihar, New Delhi
  3. Shahajahanabad society, Plot No. 1, Sector 11, Dwarka.
  4. Dinpur Village
  5. Markaz Masjid and Nizamuddin Basti
  6. Nizamuddinm West (G and D block) areas
  7. B Block Jhangirpuri
  8. No 141 to H. No 180, St. No. 14, Kalyanpuri, Delhi
  9. Mansara Appartments, Vasundhara Enclave, Delhi
  10. 3 streets of Khichirpur including street containing H. No. 5/387 Khichirpur, Delhi
  11. No. 9, Pandav Nagar, Delhi 110092.
  12. VarDhaman Appartments, Mayur Vihar, Phase I, Extension, Delhi

Delhi becomes the second state where 20 hotspots have been sealed, after Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Yogi Adityanath, has sealed 15 district of Uttar Pradesh for the same purpose to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the state. The 15 districts include Gautam Buddh Nagar, Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Agra, Kanpur, Varanasi, Shamli, Bareily, Bulandshahr, Firozabad, Maharajganj, Sitapur, Saharanpur and Basti.
