After an Air Canada flight from Toronto to Delhi turned back over Europe today when the Pakistani government decided to close its airspace amid heightened tensions with India, the airline suspended its flights to India.
“Due to the closure of Pakistani airspace by its government Air Canada has temporarily suspended service to India.,” the airline said in a statement.
Airline further informed that they are monitoring the situation and when the situation normalizes and it is determined that it is safe to operate, flights to India will be resumed.
Air Canada normally operates daily flights to Delhi from Toronto and Vancouver and flies from Toronto to Mumbai four times a week.
