15 Manitoba Schools Shut Down on Monday Amidst Multiple Threats

Nearly 4000 students of 15 schools of the Lord Selkirk School Division in north of Winnipeg were forced to stay back at home amidst multiple threat messages surfaced on social media.

Initially after the first threat surfaced, it was announced that one high school would be closed on Monday but subsequently due to inputs from RCMP all the 15 schools in the division were closed.

The LSSD website early Monday flashed news about the division-wide closure “to ensure the safety of students and staff” while RCMP continue to investigate.

RCMP confirmed the arrest of three people an 18-year-old man, a 18-year-old women and a 16 year old boy for investigating “multiple violent threats.”
It is still not known if the arrested people are current or former students from the Selkirk school division.
