Finance Minister Bill Morneau Launches Government’s Pre-Budget Consultations

Participating in a panel discussion and talk with students at Ryerson University in Toronto today, Finance Minister Bill Morneau launched the Government of Canada’s consultations for Budget 2019. The minister also shared the Government’s plan to invest to grow the economy and create more good, well-paying jobs for the middle class.
“The Government’s plan—to invest in people, to strengthen and grow the middle class, and to build an economy that works for everyone—is delivering results. Canadians are better off today thanks to their hard work and these investments. But we know more work needs to be done. Today, I invite all Canadians to contribute their ideas on how we can continue to make sure that more Canadians are better off as we grow our economy today, and for the long term.” said Bill Morneau, Minister of Finance

Canadians can contribute their ideas to the Government’s pre-budget consultations by submitting through the Your Budget website launched today: https://www.budget.gc.ca/pbc. They can also share the ideas through in-person and digital events with Parliamentarians.
