Canada Post Union Shuts Down Mail

The capital, as well as smaller towns in Ontario, British Columbia and Quebec are all being targeted by rotating strikes by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers.

Members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers have been holding strikes for a month, resulting massive backlogs of unsorted mail and packages at postal depots.

Labour Minister Patty Hajdu on Thursday tabled a bill to end mail disruptions across the country.
Canada Post says it could take weeks to clear the backlog that has built up at all the major sorting centres in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
