Australia outplayed India as the visitors lost the opening T-20 match at Brisbane by 4 runs to their host in a nail bitting finish. Due to rain the match was restricted to 17 overs. Required to make 174 runs, India finished at 169 despite an aggressive Shikhar Dhawan shaping the start of innings by a quick 76 off 42 balls.
